This piece featured various values and shades of greens. I was thinking that this one might turn out close to a small-works piece I did a couple of years ago named Emerald, but this one showed much more of the Golden Paints “Green Gold” shades. It reminded me more of the Peridot small-works piece I did. So I named this piece “M-Peridot”. It measures 10 x 20, and when framed in its floating frame, it measures 14 x 24.

I had been thinking of experimenting with fluid art in a more minimalist presentation - most monochromatic. I created a piece on a white foundation with only black, grey and off-white contrasts. Then I added just a hint of color (in this case Rose), to contrast with the contrasts. That piece - “A Touch of Rose” worked well, and it led me to pursue a new series of paintings named “Mostly Mono”. 

The “Mostly Mono” series of acrylic fluid art paintings features the same pattern of a white foundation with contrasting colors of mainly blacks, grays and silver metallic emulsions. But each piece also features one contrasting color to stand out from the “Mostly Mono” majority.
