My Galactic themed paintings are inspired largely by the images and energies of the Universe. The original inspiration came from a slide show a colleague put together over a decade ago which showed images starting at things measured on a scale of one meter (e.g. a picture of a human or a horse); and then zoomed out at multiples of ten until the images were of spectacular visions of galaxies, energetic effects and nebula taken by the Hubble deep space telescope.
Others are my own imagination of what various galactic energies might look like if we were able to see them - like Volcanic blasts or surges of enormous energies in the depths of space. Often people see something new or completely different. What do you see in the wide variety of colors, shapes and patterns in these?
"Rivers of Europa 1" uses the imagination to picture what the waters of Jupiter's largest moon might look like. I doubt I'll live to ever see an actual photograph of a river on Europa (if they exist), so this will satisfy the curious for now to some extent. It is an acrylic fluid art combining green, blue, gold and white contrasting colors over a black foundation. It includes special metallic powder / acrylic media emulsions. It is painted on a 16x20 level 2 canvas, and would measure approximately 18x22 framed depending on moulding chosen.
