Watercolor Paintings

The watercolor original paintings were my first experiments with visual art. These are generally abstract works, but I have to say that the watercolors are the most representational of my artwork. I find watercolor a fascinating and challenging medium to work with because it's almost like painting in the negative - highlights are the areas of the paper with no pigment, and vice versa. All of the examples I've included here were painted "wet in wet". I really liked the effects I could achieve when the paint flowed and interacted with itself. It's no doubt part of the reason why my later acrylic fluid artwork became such a large part of my work.
